2008 Benchwarmer Championships
Season one is in the books for the Redbirds League and now we're on
to the playoff rounds to crown the first champion. Brooklyn,
Hanso, Prairie, and Alpha Centauri vie for a place in Redbirds
history.
Musial Conference: Hanso (82-68) vs. Brooklyn (101-49)
On the surface, it appears that Brooklyn is the heavy favorite to
win the first Musial Conference title. That may be so, but it is
common in BWB that the top team stumbles before winning it all.
Brooklyn was neck and neck with Manalapan for a while before pulling
out to 101 wins. Hanso had a bit of a closer race in the Smith
Division.

Gibson Conference: Alpha Centauri (83-67) vs. Prairie (84-66)
Both of these races were very close, and this series appears to be
a close matchup also. Prairie won the Dean Division by 3 games,
while Alpha Centauri came right down to the wire and finished only 1
game ahead of Middle Age in the Slaughter. During the season,
the two teams were pretty close in their head-to-head matchups.

BWB CHAMPIONSHIP : Alpha Centauri vs. Brooklyn
Alpha Centauri barely got into the playoffs, and now they're just
one step away from the league's first championship. But standing
in their way is the league's top team - Brooklyn. Alpha Centauri
cannot qualify for the Benchwarmer Bash as a wild card - they must
win. But Brooklyn is in regardless of the results here.
